Job summary

Harbor Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multi-specialty Express Care team at Onion Creek in Austin, TX. You’ll lead clinical care, evaluate acute conditions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver efficient, evidence-based treatment.

The role requires Texas NP/PA licensure, board certification, and DEA prescriptive authority, with 1–2 years in urgent care or related ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Texas NP/PA licensure required.
• Board certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA or equivalent).
• DEA license and prescriptive authority in Texas.
• 1–2 years in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or related ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning.
• Experience with diverse member populations.
• Proficiency with EHR systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to Harbor Health's mission in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute, urgent, and episodic conditions in Express Care.
• Obtain comprehensive histories and perform physicals.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice.
• Educate members and families on diagnoses and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with Harbor Health care team for referrals and care continuity.
• Document encounters accurately in the EHR.
• Adhere to regulatory and credentialing requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and member safety.
