Job summary

Builders Mutual in Raleigh, NC, seeks an Express Account Underwriter to manage an assigned book for construction clients, covering workers compensation, commercial package, business auto and umbrella lines. You’ll be trained in underwriting, screening new submissions, renewals and endorsements, and will collaborate with underwriters and territory managers to hit goals.

This hybrid role requires a BA/BS and 2 years in commercial lines underwriting with strong customer service and communication

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree with 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting or equivalent.
• Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills – Internal and External.
• Understands the fundamentals of insurance.
• Strong PC (MS Office, Outlook) skills; knowledge of policy processing systems and imaging systems.
• AU Completed along with starting CBIA and CISR or CRIS.

Responsibilities

• Review new business submissions and make final risk acceptability and pricing decisions within designated authority.
• Review endorsement requests and make final decision on acceptability, terms & conditions and communicate to ASR and agents accordingly.
• Review renewals and make final decision on acceptability, terms & conditions and communicate to ASR and agents accordingly.
• Order and screen miscellaneous reports needed in rating and underwriting processes, such as MVRs, Experian Reports, Loss Control Reports, etc.
• Provide customer service support to our agents, handling various inquiries and requests with some level of complexity.
• Actively participate and drive territory goals.
• Assist in training of other EAUs.
• Conduct IT testing as required.
