This hybrid role requires coordinating with Product Management, Sales, Risk, and Operations, while mentoring a high-performing team and maintaining strong agency relationships to deliver superior customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience or equivalent.
• Proven leadership/supervisory experience with talent development.
• Experience managing agency, broker, or distribution relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting operations for assigned segment or team and align with strategy.
• Drive profitable growth through disciplined risk selection and pricing.
• Monitor portfolio performance and implement action plans to improve results.
• Review complex risks within delegated authority and escalate when needed.
• Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing underwriting team.
• Build collaborative relationships with agencies, brokers, and distribution partners.
• Partner with Product Management and Sales to identify market opportunities.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Claims, Actuarial, and Compliance to support initiatives.
• Use data and analytics to improve decision quality and efficiency.
