Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics LLC is seeking an Export Specialist in Houston to manage shipments and related activities for assigned accounts. You will interact daily with customers, carriers and potential clients, ensuring quality service in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes proactive communication, accuracy in documentation, and collaboration with internal teams to optimize freight movement and meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation, dock receipts, bills of lading, export declarations.
  • File SEDs (Shippers Export Declarations).
  • Track and trace cargo to ensure proper movement and delivery.
  • Provide accounting with correct billing information.
  • Communicate with customers on freight disposition, routing, dispatching and rates.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing and rates.
  • Communicate with other branches and agents for customer satisfaction and service execution.
  • Seek the most profitable shipment mode meeting customer requirements.

Job description

The Export Specialist is responsible for processing shipments and all related activities for an assigned base of accounts. The individual will have contact with customers, carriers and potential customers on a daily basis. He/she must be proactive in providing quality customer service and have the ability to handle pressure and responsibility in a fast pace environment, in a timely and affective manner. The successful candidate must have good customer service skill and handle dual task. Being proactive in providing quality customer service is a must.

Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare documentation, dock receipts, bills of lading, export declarations.
  • File SED's (Shippers Export Declarations)
  • Track and trace cargo as necessary to insure proper movement and delivery.
  • Provide accounting department with proper and correct billing information.
  • Communicate with customers regarding disposition of Freight (i.e. tracking & tracing, routing & dispatching, and rate quotations).
  • Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
  • Communicate & correspond with other Company branches and agents for customer satisfaction and ensure excellent service execution.
  • Seek the most profitable mode of shipment yet meet customer's requirement for the movement of freight.
Other Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the Import/Export industry preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both customers and internal personnel.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be career oriented, hardworking, quick learner and have excellent recall for past events/situations/numbers.
  • Strong knowledge of personal computers Education and Experience
Physical Requirements
  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two to three years related experience
  • At least one year industry experience preferred.
