Job summary

Vanguard Logistics Services in Linden, NJ seeks an Export Customer Service Representative to provide top-tier support by promptly responding to cargo inquiries, completing bookings, and communicating with customers to ensure shipments load as scheduled.

You will coordinate with warehouse, trucking, and customs, chase missing documentation, prepare bookings for overseas routings, and liaise with partners to confirm cargo uplift and update statuses.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience; logistics experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills (English required); excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively to meet customer requirements and complete bookings on time.
• Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure cargo is received before cut-off.
• Report OS&D issues and follow up on shipping outcomes.
• Chase missing documentation to ensure paperwork is received prior to cut-off.
• Complete booking requests.
• Arrange pick-ups with trucking companies.
• Contact shippers and book overseas routings, sending confirmations to the origin office and updating status.
• Determine if export customs clearance is needed and liaise with the customs broker if required.
• Inform Load Planning of any special handling requirements for cargo.
• Add any charges to be billed and expenses incurred during the booking process.
• Lodge hazardous paperwork with the Haz Team for pre-approval on cargo handling.
