Job summary

Imerys in the United States is seeking an Export Coordinator to manage the end-to-end export process from our US plants to overseas customers. You will coordinate drayage, booking with ocean carriers, and ensure accurate documentation in ERP systems.

The role requires knowledge of INCOTERMS, 2+ years of ocean export experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally with logistics, finance, and customer service to maintain on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years ocean export experience with freight forwarder or large manufacturer.
• Understanding of INCO TERMS and who is responsible for paying freight.
• Knowledge of ocean carrier lines.
• Freight forwarding experience with strong export knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Handle export shipment process including drayage coordination with internal departments and external vendors.
• Book US export orders with ocean carriers via EDI or email.
• Input booking details into ERP and update with changes.
• Coordinate with ocean carrier operations and drayage on container/ chassis issues.
• Prepare SEDs and BL instructions timely.
• Collaborate with credit, bank and customer service for drafts and LC consignments.
• Compile shipment documents (CI, PL, etc.) and send to overseas customers.
• Maintain SOPs and customer profiles with contacts and special requirements.
• Monthly KPI tracking of carrier performance and order accuracy.

Job Description

Imerys has an immediate opportunity for an Export Coordinator to support the business by handling all transportation and logistics aspects of our international orders from our US plants to overseas customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete export shipment process, including but not limited to drayage arrangement, which requires coordination with internal departments and external vendors (booking, document preparation, tracking and tracing)
• Book US export orders annually with ocean carriers via EDI or email
• Input booking details to ERP system and keep updated with numerous changes
• Work closely with ocean carrier operations and drayage dispatch on EQ (container or chassis) issues
• Complete SEDs and BL instructions timely
• Work with credit team, bank and customer service in creating bank drafts and BL consignment for LCs
• Compile shipment documents (CI, PL, etc from ERP and Ocean BL) and send to overseas customers
• Work with Customer Service, Logistics, Shipping, Production to keep up with load schedule changes (Rolled bookings)
• Audit ocean freight invoices before having AP group issue payment
• Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, and preferred routings/services/carriers.
• Coordinator may have additional responsibilities in accordance with supporting the team that are deemed necessary by manager
• On a monthly basis the coordinator may have to maintain key performance indicators that will track the carriers performance and internal order accuracy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
• 2 + years Ocean export experience with freight forwarder or large manufacturer, preferred
• Understanding of INCO TERMS and who is responsible for paying freight, preferred -
• Knowledge of/familiarity with ocean carrier lines
• freight forwarding experience, strong knowledge of export, tracking companies
