Job summary

NODA AI, Inc. is seeking an Export Controls & Trade Compliance Manager in Austin, TX or Washington, D.C. (Hybrid on-site with up to 5% travel).

The role focuses on export controls, ITAR/EAR compliance, licensing, and program-wide governance to keep licenses moving and records audit-ready. You will partner with Engineering, Contracts, ISSM, and Finance to embed compliance into daily operations while coordinating with outside counsel for complex regulatory matters. U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting or executing U.S. import, export, or trade compliance activities, including practical ITAR and EAR requirements.
• In-depth working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC sanctions requirements, the CCL/ECCN, USML, and deemed export concepts.
• Experience preparing, administering, or tracking DDTC and/or BIS export licenses, agreements, authorizations, or classification requests (DSP-5s, TAAs, MLAs).
• Familiarity with U.S. Government trade compliance systems (DECCS, SNAP-R).
• Ability to prepare regulatory correspondence with DDTC and other U.S. Government agencies.
• Proficiency in restricted/denied party screening and compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with Technology Control Plans and related access requirements.
• Working knowledge of U.S. import and customs compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal subject matter expert and owner for export controls and trade compliance, driving program execution and cross-functional compliance efforts.
• Own and manage DDTC registration and regulatory obligations, including filings, certifications, and communications with USG agencies.
• Prepare, submit, and track export licenses, agreements, authorizations, and classifications through U.S. Government systems.
• Document jurisdiction and classification determinations for software, data, hardware, and systems under USML and ECCN/CCL.
• Perform restricted and denied party screening for customers, partners, vendors, visitors, and foreign persons.
• Administer ITAR exemptions, EAR license exceptions, and technology transfer plans; maintain audit-ready records.
• Coordinate with ISSM/FSO/IT and other stakeholders to control access to export-controlled information.
• Support import and cross-border compliance activities and cross-functional training and audits.
• Maintain and improve the Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP) across the company.
