BCG Attorney Search in Washington, DC seeks an Associate or Counsel for its International Trade practice with 3–6 years of experience in U.S. export controls (EAR/ITAR). The candidate will guide regulatory compliance, licensing, and filings, and support diligence in M&A matters.

JD required and bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction, plus strong writing and analytical abilities. The role involves training, risk-based program development, and due diligence reviews, with opportunities to work

Qualifications

• Member of the state bar for the office location or eligible for admission by waiver.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Highly developed organizational, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory and compliance guidance on EAR and ITAR.
• Conduct jurisdiction and classification analysis, including Commodity Jurisdiction and CCATS requests.
• Obtain export licenses and analyze license exceptions and exemptions.
• Conduct and supervise party screening and due diligence.
• Review, prepare, and file DDTC registrations and related filings.
• Develop international trade compliance programs based on risk analysis.
• Provide export controls compliance training.
• Represent clients in voluntary self-disclosures and M&A-related trade compliance diligence.
• Perform internal investigations and audits related to export control concerns.
