Job summary

Magnet Forensics seeks an experienced compliance professional to lead export classification and regulatory compliance efforts. The role requires technical knowledge of computer engineering, cryptography, and digital forensics, and will partner with product management and engineering to ensure accurate EAR/ITAR classifications.

The candidate will manage ECCN determinations, licensing applications, and regulatory filings while embedding with engineering to align roadmaps with compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field as listed.
• 5-7+ years of experience in export controls, trade compliance, or regulatory compliance with advanced technology products.
• Experience classifying software, encryption products, cybersecurity tools, or digital forensics tech.
• Ability to read technical specs, engineering docs, and source code concepts.
• Strong cryptography, encryption, cybersecurity, or digital forensics knowledge.
• Nice-to-have: advanced degree or trade compliance certifications; licensed attorney or CERTIFIED Export Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Lead product classification and regulatory analysis under EAR and ITAR.
• Prepare ECCN determinations, CCATS submissions, CJ requests, and licensing filings.
• Coordinate with engineering, product management, and architecture teams.
• Develop governance processes and training for engineering, sales, and support.
• Establish export control review for all product releases and updates.
• Interact with outside counsel and government agencies; support audits and inquiries.
