Job summary

Jobtailor in Kentucky is seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager to direct the construction, commissioning, and ongoing optimization of the Blue Grass Army Depot Energetics Center of Excellence explosives manufacturing facility.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams and coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to align technical solutions with program objectives.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience developing, implementing, and sustaining enterprise‑wide, large‑scale information systems.
• 10+ years of senior engineering leadership experience across multiple disciplines in U.S. Federal contracts involving munitions, chemicals, and construction.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience managing teams or subcontractors on large DoD construction projects and DoD program management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction, commissioning, and optimization of explosives manufacturing facilities.
• Lead multi‑discipline engineering teams; coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with DoD standards, security requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Manage schedules, risks, resources, and deliverables; coordinate with program management.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineering personnel.
• Support proposal development, technical reviews, and strategic planning.
• Drive continuous improvement and align engineering solutions with mission objectives.
