Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring an Explosive Detection Canine (K9) Handler to work with a trained K9 partner at client sites including corporate facilities, docks, and vehicles. The role requires a minimum of two years in military or law enforcement, or corrections, with a private vehicle for K9 transport.

Paid training is provided, and a canine stipend covers training and care. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Minimum of two years in military, law enforcement, or corrections.
• Adequate living environment to allow for exercise/training of the K9.
• Access to reliable transportation for K9 transport to/from work.
• Willingness to be available for incident/emergency response and client demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a trained Explosive Detection K9 to conduct searches at client sites and facilities.
• Coordinate with security managers, law enforcement, and client representatives per post orders.
• Train the Explosive Detection K9 daily, ensuring safety and welfare.
• Comply with all regulatory protocols and required technologies.
