HOERBIGER Safety Solutions, IEP Technologies (IEP) in Marlborough, MA, is seeking an Application & Explosion Protection Engineer to drive advanced explosion protection solutions for industrial manufacturing.

This role combines engineering excellence, research, and industry engagement to advance the company\'s technical capabilities while supporting customers with innovative and scientifically validated safety solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Process Safety Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's degree in engineering strongly preferred or pursuing.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in explosion protection, process safety, CFD, or related field.
• Experience with CFD software and simulation-based engineering analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and validation of explosion protection methods for dust, gas, and hybrid hazards.
• Perform CFD analyses and simulations to evaluate venting, suppression, and safety risks.
• Serve as SME supporting customer applications, product development, and hazard assessments.
• Engage with industry bodies and standards groups to shape future practices.
• Develop white papers, articles, and application notes; present findings at conferences.
