Job summary

The Boys Club of New York BCNY is hiring an Explorer Group Leader to guide and supervise a group of 10–21 boys ages 7–10 in Bronx, ensuring safety and engagement during program activities.

You will plan age-appropriate curriculum, facilitate games, and support program assistants and volunteers while maintaining a positive, inclusive environment. Training and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth development, education, or afterschool programs.
• Strong communication skills with youth, families, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred; first aid/CPR certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities for 10–21 boys ages 7–10.
• Plan, implement and facilitate age-appropriate curriculum and games.
• Provide guidance, problem solving and behavior support as needed.
• Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with the group.
• Assist with daily setup, cleanup and transportation.
• Ensure proper care of materials and report damages to Program Director.
• Use behavior management strategies and communicate incidents to staff.
• Attend mandatory professional development trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Explorer Group Leader is responsible for the direct guidance supervision and safety of youth under their care while ensuring an engaging and intellectually stimulating member experience Heshe will build rapport with members through positive interactions in program activities The Explorer Group Leader will also assist in managing program assistants and volunteers

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a group of 10 21 boys ages 7 10 years old
• Plan implement and facilitate age appropriate curriculum activities and games for members
• Provide guidance problem solving facilitation and behavior modification as needed
• Participate in indoor and outdoor activities
• Assist with daily set up daily clean up and transportation
• Ensure proper care of all area materials organize room and report any misused or damaged materials to the Program Director
• Use behavior management strategies to defuse inappropriate behavior and communicate behavior incidents with the Age Group Director and other necessary staff
• Attend mandatory professional development trainings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in youth development education or afterschool
• Strong communication skills
• Experience managing multiple priorities
• Well organized able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
• First Aid and CPR certification desirable
