Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Space Systems Engineer in Springfield, VA, to lead multi-disciplinary efforts across requirements, solutions, reliability, and test for GEOINT programs in NSG and DoD/IC contexts. On-site role requiring top-level security access and OCI/OCIs where applicable.

The candidate will apply MBSE methods, space environment analyses, and space weather/threat modeling to ensure mission success, with a strong emphasis on data handling across classification levels.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Engineering with 18+ years of experience or PhD in Engineering with 10+ years of experience.
• Experience with Integrated Protection Strategy (IPS) or integrating SSA applications.
• Experience with space related activities (SOSI, BMC3, or orbital analysis).
• Experience dealing with data at multiple classification levels.
• Demonstrated experience with space enterprise information needs.
• Experience with space environments and space asset threat assessments.
• Experience with physics models including space weather effects and threat/damage analysis.
• Experience with space object measurement.
• Experience with NRO/SAO or AF SPO.
• Understanding of MBSE processes, tools, and languages.
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Job description

Responsibilities

The KPMO Space Systems Engineer employs a multi-discipline approach to Space, requirements engineering, solutions engineering, reliability, resiliency, services deployment, research & development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across CAP/SAP architectures in the NSG and the DoD/IC to ensure timely and accurate GEOINT.

Security and Program Access Requirements:

• Must be willing to sign additional Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Must provide proof of Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) status for participation in KPMO programs

Location: This position is 100% onsite in Springfield, Virginia. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
