Job summary

Trinity Industries, Inc. in Navasota, Texas is seeking an Expert Equipment Technician (2nd shift) to perform complex repairs on production equipment motors, hydraulics, pneumatic systems and electrical components.

Responsibilities include PLC troubleshooting (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), reading blueprints, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining CMMS records. The role requires 5+ years of related experience and a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience; industrial controls, industrial hydraulics and industrial furnace specialty experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment drawing, and electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics schematics.
  • May require working above ground (15 ft. or more).

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex repairs on production equipment motors and mechanical components including basic pneumatics and complex hydraulics systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems up to 480 volt.
  • Troubleshoots PLC Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Troubleshoots and repair mechanical problems, including hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs to production and mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, read and understand electrical schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
  • Installs and repairs hydraulic systems, apparatus, hydraulic and pneumatic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following code, manuals, read hydraulic and pneumatic schematic diagrams with knowledge of complex hydraulic symbols, blueprints, and other specifications.
  • Lays out, builds, tests troubleshoot, repairs and modifies production electronic components, parts, switch panels etc.
  • May test new equipment, troubleshoot operation, make minor adjustments to equipment.
  • Maintains and completes all required records in company CMMS program (EAM)
  • Follows all safety rules and practices.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing and able to train and teach other technicians.

Desired knowledge and experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience; industrial controls, industrial hydraulics and industrial furnace specialty experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment drawing, and electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics schematics.
  • May require working above ground (15 ft. or more).
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects, comfortable with heights.
  • May require working in narrow or confined workspaces for extended periods of time.
