Job summary

The Padre Hotel in Bakersfield is seeking an experienced bartender to prepare, mix, and garnish drinks and manage bar setup and teardown for events. You will ensure responsible alcohol service, greet guests, and work with a knowledgeable team to promote hospitality and merchandise beverages and food.

Candidates should understand bar etiquette, maintain accurate cash handling, and operate the POS system efficiently during peak times.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette and service standards.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently to interact with customers.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze customer needs and resolve issues.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up bar according to Padre standards at opening and start of shifts.
• Complete assigned pre-shift side work.
• Check IDs for guests under 30 ordering alcohol.
• Mix and serve drinks and pastries according to Padre recipes.
• Greet guests promptly and engage hospitality.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and polish glassware.
• Enter orders in POS in correct sequence.
• Close checks promptly and process payments within minutes.
