JOB SCOPE:
- Assembly of experimental and prototype engines, components and auxiliaries.
- Set-up and operation of experimental and prototype engines, components and accessories for performance and endurance tests.
- Install, maintain and repair experimental _equipment and test facilities.
- Fabricate special equipment, such as engine mounts, baffles, tubing, brackets, etc.
- Measurement of engine parts, components and accessories.
- Weld ferrous or light alloys.
- Support of accident investigations during engine teardown.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties inherently required of the job classification.
- Perform assigned work in a safety conscious manner.
- Perform assigned work to specified quality and production standards.
- Maintain equipment and tools used by the individual in a clean condition.
- Perform assigned cleaning required to maintain individual's immediate work area in a clean condition.
- Prepare and/or maintain all documentation necessary to the duties of the job classification.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Sheet Metal Knowledge
- Basic Pipefitting Knowledge
- Basic Millwright Knowledge
- Forklift License Required
- Possess the ability to build a complete engine from Power Section to Mag and demonstrate the ability to test engines; Or an FAA Powerplant (A&P) License
- Basic Troubleshooting Skills
- Ability to use basic measuring tools
- Ability to be trained to weld
