Charm Industrial in Fort Lupton, CO is seeking a hands-on Lab Specialist to join the Materials Science and Engineering team. You will own the experimental work, design and build reactors and test systems, and perform experiments to gather data for business development.

You will work with reservoir engineers and technical leads to design experiments, manage samples, and develop repeatable protocols. Strong chemistry fundamentals and problem-solving drive are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong chemistry fundamentals and hands-on lab experience.
• Ability to design, build, troubleshoot, and run rigorous experiments.
• Experience with building experiments, reactors, and test systems.
• Comfort with high pressure, high temperature, porous media or vacuum systems.
• Ability to generate high-quality data and keep meticulous records.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run laboratory experiments and test systems, including high pressure and high temperature systems.
• Take an experimental concept from a teammate and turn it into an executed test that generates learnings.
• Manage field samples (brine, sand, bio-oil, and other materials) at the Colorado lab.
• Manage third-party lab relationships: send samples, track turnaround, review results, and travel occasionally.
• Build and follow repeatable, well-documented test protocols for external labs and colleagues.
• Keep experimental data organized and reported through electronic databases.
• Flex to support other MSE lab projects as priorities require.
