Job summary

Metric Geo seeks an experimental AMO physicist to design, build, and operate quantum platforms for qubit control and readout. You’ll work hands-on with optical/cryogenic systems and data acquisition to push scalable quantum technologies on site in the United States.

The ideal candidate has a PhD in AMO/Physics by January and strong data analysis plus Python automation skills for experiment control.

Qualifications

• PhD in AMO Physics or Physics, completed by January at the latest.
• Hands-on experimental background in quantum platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and characterize optical and cryogenic systems for quantum experiments.
• Understand and implement protocols for qubit preparation, control, and readout.
• Integrate control electronics, laser or RF/microwave systems, and data acquisition.
• Analyze experimental results and optimize system performance.
• Collaborate across teams to guide system design and development.
