Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Overland Park, KS seeks an associate attorney with at least 3 years defending workers' compensation and/or insurance defense, licensed in KS and eligible for MO reciprocity via UBE transfer or experience.

You will gather and review medical evidence, take depositions, conduct discovery, draft pleadings, and litigate before a workers' compensation judge while representing employers or insurers.

Qualifications

• J.D. and licensed in KS and MO or reciprocity.
• Experience in workers' compensation defense work.
• Knowledge of legal principles and practices.
• Proficiency in legal research techniques.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent telephone and writing skills.
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain firm and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Gather and review medical evidence and records.
• Take depositions of claimants, physicians, and experts.
• Conduct discovery and perform legal research.

• Represent employers or insurers at various proceedings.
• Communicate with claims representatives.
• Monitor loss run reports and alert management to concerns.
• Assist with accident investigations.
• Manage workers' compensation costs.
• Compile and submit management reports.
• Coordinate and attend claims reviews.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
