Thompson Fabrication, a steel fabrication and manufacturing shop, is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time Experienced MIG Welder job opening. Experienced candidates will have 5 to 10+ years of experience. Thompson Fabricating has been providing high quality containers to the waste industry for 30 years.
We are looking for a MIG Welder for a fast paced, assembly line work for our Steel Rolloff container manufacturing facility. This individual must be able to weld Vertical, Horizontal, Flat and Overhead welds on material thickness ranging from 12 gauge (.1046) to 1/4" (.25) with .045 bare wire. The job also includes fitting and grinding, as needed.
Qualifications:
Ability to use .045 & .052 bare wire
Ability to read a tape measure
Must have the know how to operate a MIG welder and adjust it to your liking
Must be able to read a tape measure for layout purpose
Ability to lay welds in multiple positions
Ability to use plasma cutter and overhead crane
Know the difference between ¼” and 7 Ga. 10 Ga. and 12 Ga
Ability to read and understand the production schedules
Must be able to work in a Team setting
Ability to pass the per-employment weld test
Physical Abilities:
Must be able to weld in multiple positions
Must be able to lift & carry up to 60 #
Must be able to climb into and out of containers using a ladder
Education and Experience:
5 to 10 years of welding experience, including fabrication experience
Welding certification from accredited facility preferred
