Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a full-time Environmental Engineer for our Omaha/Council Bluffs office. You will work on a range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects with engineers, CAD technicians, and field staff to deliver high-impact solutions.

The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree with 5–10+ years of environmental design experience, plus licensure in Iowa or Nebraska (PE preferred) or EIT with path to PE within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater treatment and drinking water treatment design and construction.
• Iowa or Nebraska P.E. license or EIT certification with ability to obtain P.E. license within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Business Development, including initiation of client contacts and preparation of project proposals.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering

Master’s degree preferred
