Job Description

We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team in New Smyrna Beach. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about animal care and committed to delivering exceptional service in a collaborative healthcare environment. You will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Mandatory Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:30 am
• Perform animal restraint using safe and low‑stress techniques while maintaining composure in dynamic situations
• Conduct triage of incoming patients and assess their medical needs with attention to detail
• Collect, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiographic and ultrasound positioning and image capture
• Prepare surgical sites and provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures
• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout anesthetic procedures with precision
• Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical records
• Provide compassionate nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with varying degrees of stability
• Communicate treatment plans and medical updates to clients in a clear and empathetic manner
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care protocols, and hospital operations
• Support the veterinary team in delivering efficient, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced environment
• Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics, animal welfare, and continuous professional development

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with exposure to animal‑related hazards, including bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases
