Priority Pet Urgent Care of St Augustine is opening a state-of-the-art clinic in St. Augustine, FL and seeks experienced veterinary technicians and assistants to join our medical care team.

Responsibilities include animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, anesthesia, and nursing care for varied cases with emphasis on client communication and high-quality patient care. We offer virtual and hands-on training, a supportive environment, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years veterinary experience preferred
• CVT preferred but not required
• Punctuality and reliability essential
• Excellent client communication and medical record management
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures and hospital operations
• Safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Experience with sample collection, radiography, anesthesia, and surgical monitoring

Responsibilities

• Restraint and triage of patients; collect and analyze lab samples
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases
• Assist in diagnostic imaging and anesthesia management
• Prepare for surgeries and assist during procedures
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to clients
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• Experienced veterinary technicians, 2+ years professional experience preferred but not required.
  • CVT highly preferred, but not required for this position.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
