High Desert Animal Care Hospital in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join a fast-paced, team-oriented practice. Responsibilities include patient restraint, triage, lab work, and radiographs, with opportunities for anesthesia monitoring and surgical support.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience, strong communication, and a compassionate, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• 2+ years veterinary assistant experience preferred.

• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples; diagnostic imaging.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re Looking For:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 2-years experiencepreferred.

Additional Information

Pay Range:Starting at $18 - 22/hr. based on experience level
