PriorityPet Urgent Care Clayton is hiring a Veterinary Assistant who can help with pet restraint, triage, sample collection, and radiographs in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Requirements include at least 1 year of experience, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to multi-task.

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant experience.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus.
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset.

Responsabilités

• Restrain and triage patients; collect and analyze lab samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and anesthesia monitoring.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.
• Assist in surgical prep and procedures.
• Handle unpleasant odors/noises and potential exposure to contaminants.

Pet accidents, illnesses, and injuries are all unfortunate and seem to always happen at the worst of times when primary care veterinarians are either closed or too busy to see the pet. For these reasons, we are excited to announce that our new Priority Pet Urgent Care of Clayton is now open!

We are available for urgent care pet needs 7 days a week from 4pm - 12pm. We're looking to hire the most compassionate, experienced, and qualified Veterinarians and support staff, to ensure the highest quality of medicine is provided. Our new building and state of the art equipment will provide our teams the space and tools they'll need to deliver the best in service and medicine for our community!

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
