Job summary

Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center in New Hampshire is seeking a Veterinary Assistant with at least two years of experience. You will assist with triage, restraint, lab work, imaging and nursing care across varied cases, while communicating treatment plans to clients and supporting anesthesia monitoring.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in veterinary assisting.
• Punctual and reliable with scheduled shifts.
• Availability for some weekend shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management.
• Restraint techniques and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus.

• Restrain and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; perform diagnostic imaging.
• Provide nursing care and manage medical/hospitalized cases.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2-years experience required
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
• Availability to work some weekend shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Compassionate, calm team player.
• Ability to multitask.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $15 - $20/hr depending on level of experience
