Job summary

Stonecliff Animal Clinic in New Hampshire is seeking a Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join our growing team. You will assist with patient restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred (minimum 1 year).
• Must be compassionate, calm, a team player, and a strong communicator.
• Ability to properly restrain pets is required.
• Proficiency in sample collection, med history taking, lab tests, radiographs is a bonus.
• Self-starter attitude with willingness to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals safely and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans with clients, including anesthesia management.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!

Additional Information

Pay Range: $17-$24/hr depending on experience and schooling
