VCA Povar Animal Hospital in East Providence, RI is seeking a full-time Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The hospital provides comprehensive care including surgery, dentistry, and primary care for a four-doctor practice.

Ideal candidates are positive, motivated, and ready to contribute to a collaborative team. Credentialed technicians (CVT/RVT/LVT) or those in training are encouraged to apply, with growth and ongoing education supported by the hospital.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be positive and motivated.
• Experience as a veterinary technician or in training desired.
• Credentialed veterinary technician status (CVT/RVT/LVT) or training in progress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations, patient assessment and recovery.
• Support procedural anesthesia and monitoring.
• Administer IV fluids and calculate CRIs.
• Hands-free radiology and diagnostic imaging.
• Communicate with clients and discharge instructions.
• Perform dental radiographs and cleanings.

Compensation:

the pay range for this position is $22-$28/hr based on skill set, experience, and licensure status (VA, CVT, VTS)

Potential Schedule:

4 days/week + rotating Saturdays

Whether you are a credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or technician in training, we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

Veterinary Technician Duties Include

• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and recovery
• Procedural anesthesia and monitoring

• Hands Free Radiology and diagnostic imaging
• Client communications and discharge
• Dental radiographs and cleanings
