Job summary

VIKA Virginia, LLC is seeking a transportation professional to lead traffic studies, analyses, and designs in a collaborative, cross-functional team. You will work under the Director of Transportation to expand the firm’s service portfolio and deliver client-ready reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering, urban planning, or transportation planning.
• 3-6 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.
• Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS.
• Strong knowledge of MUTCD and traffic signal design.
• Knowledge of MOT plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation studies and traffic impact analyses.
• Assist in project team management and provide technical support for traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and geometric designs.
• Participate in parking demand studies and multimodal transportation assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
• Attend client meetings and support project presentations.
• Contribute to business development initiatives

The successful candidate will provide technical experience while expanding VIKA's Transportation Services portfolio. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams while reporting to the Director of Transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning
• 3-6 years of progressive experience in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning
• Proficiency with software: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS
• Strong knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
• Strong knowledge in Traffic Signal Design
• Strong knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, in accordance with applicable law.
