Job summary

VIKA is seeking a project engineer for our Jacksonville, Florida office. You will handle technical calculations, reports, design, and coordination of civil site development projects.

You will work on erosion control, grading, stormwater management, sanitary sewer, water, and road design, collaborating with senior staff to deliver quality plans. This role offers growth in a fast-paced, team-oriented firm emphasizing independence and professional development.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• EIT Certificate.
• 2-5 years of civil engineering design experience with a focus in land development.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Project Coordination: Work independently on simple to routine design projects with responsibility for entire project tasks including client coordination, technical aspects, under senior staff supervision.
• Technical Application: Apply diverse engineering knowledge to broad assignment areas, demonstrating intermediate experience in most aspects of land development planning and site engineering design.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate efforts with clients, agencies, internal departments, and consultants while attending client meetings and demonstrating effective communication skills.
• Regulatory Expertise: Maintain intermediate proficiency in local jurisdictions with comprehensive knowledge of county, city, town, state and federal approval processes, requirements, and standards.

Job description

We are seeking a project engineer who is driven and looking for growth and advancement. As a project engineer, you will be responsible for work associated with technical calculations, reports, design, and coordination of civil engineering site development projects. You will be involved with various elements of site design including erosion control, grading, stormwater management, sanitary sewer, water, and road design.

Minimum Qualifications
