Job summary

Bayside Kubota of Upper Marlboro is hiring a Service Technician to work on Kubota tractors and related equipment. The role covers heavy duty repairs to lawn and construction equipment, with responsibilities including diagnostics, disassembly, and quoting for service work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, recondition, service, and assemble equipment as assigned by the Shop Foreman.
• Repairs equipment including tractors, small engines, lawn mowers, ATVs, construction and farm equipment.
• Maintains accurate and readable records of work performed.
• Reports shortages or malfunctions to the Service Manager.
• Disassembles and inspects equipment quickly to quote and schedule repairs.
• Recommends additional necessary repairs to Service Manager and/or Customer.
• Keeps shop vehicles clean and serviced; reports issues to the Service Manager.
• Keeps up to date with technical changes and factory service schools.

Essential Functions

• Diagnose, repair, recondition, service, and assemble equipment as assigned by the Shop Foreman.
• Repairs equipment, including but not limited to, all size tractors, small engines, lawn mowers, all-terrain vehicles, construction, and farm equipment.
• Maintains accurate and easy to read records of work performed.
• Reports any work shortages and malfunctions of shop equipment to the Service Manager.
• Completely disassembles and inspects equipment as quickly as possible, so parts may be ordered promptly, and machine work can be properly quoted and scheduled.
• Recommends any additional necessary repairs to Service Manager and/or Customer.
• Keeps shop vehicles clean and properly serviced. Reports any problems with vehicles to the Service Manager.
• Stays up to date with technical changes and participates in continuing education with factory service schools.
• Pays special attention to repeat repairs or comebacks to correct problems and avoid future job comebacks and unnecessary dealership expenses.
• Fabricates and welds metal parts together when necessary.
• Makes service calls as assigned by the Service Manager.

• A self-motivator with strong attention to detail.
• The candidate(s) must also have their own appropriate level of tools required for most service work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
