Job summary

Near North Title Group is seeking an experienced Title Searcher to examine real estate records, determine chain of title, and compile detailed reports for title examiners. You will travel to county offices and work with online and county resources to ensure accurate ownership and encumbrance data.

The role requires a meticulous approach, 5+ years of searching experience, and proficiency with online searching systems, MS Office, and PDF tools.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• 5+ years residential and/or commercial searching experience.
• Indiana Title Producers license (can be obtained after hire).
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Superior organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with online searching systems, MS Office and PDF readers/writers.

Responsibilities

• Searching both residential and commercial properties using online and county resources.
• Analyzing and evaluating records relating to residential and commercial real estate properties.
• Examining lot books, geographic and general indices, and assessor's rolls to compile lists of transactions.
• Assessing documents such as deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, and plats/maps in determining required document copies.
• Determining ownership, encumbrances, and verifying legal descriptions of property.
• Reading and drawing out complex legal descriptions.
• Analyzing chain of title and preparing reports outlining title-related matters.
• Preparing property reports for title examiners.
• Traveling to various county recorder’s offices, as needed.
