What you’ll do as a Telecommunications Lineman

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
• Direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Valid driver’s license
• Prior experience as a lineman placing aerial and underground telecommunication cable (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environments
• Ability to climb utility poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet

Physical abilities & exposures

• This role requires extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Work in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
