What You'll Do as a Telecommunications Lineman

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
• Direct traffic flow according to DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions per regulations and policies

What You'll Need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license
• Experience as a lineman in placing aerial and underground telecom cables (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environments
• Ability to climb utility poles, work in bucket trucks, and work aloft up to 40 feet

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
• Working in extreme weather conditions like heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind
