Job summary

Tom James Custom Clothing in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor to deliver exceptional tailored clothing with meticulous attention to detail. This is a fully on-site role with attendance five days per week and roughly 30+ hours weekly, compensation starting at $28+ per hour depending on experience.

The role involves performing alterations for high-end garments, applying fabric knowledge, and delivering professional workmanship for men's and women's wear.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-starter.
• Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time.

Responsibilities

• To make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
• Shorten/lengthen sleeves.
• Taper sides of garments.
• Lower collars.
• Take in/out trousers waist.
• Take in/out seat and rise on pants.
• Shorten/lengthen trousers.
• Taper trouser thighs and foot widths.
• Ensure proper sizing of clients.
• Manages all interactions with professionalism.
• Tracks detailed alteration production daily.
• Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client-ready.
• Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date.
• Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments.

Employees must be able to work quickly in a fast-paced office environment. Weekly hours for this position are 30+. Compensation for this position is $28+, depends on experience.

Job Summary:

Performs alterations as directed for our clients' high-end garments and delivers professionally finished garments on time.

Demonstrates knowledge of fabric and standard tailoring concepts and procedures with quality workmanship for men's and women's garments.
