Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking an experienced Pipe Shop welder to join the SFI team.

Responsibilities

• Weld manufactured carbon steel cylinder pipe using SMAW, FCAW, and SAW processes.
• Weld per engineering specifications and follow manufacturing SOPs.
• Perform visual and in-process weld inspections according to API and ISO standards.
• Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems to improve throughput.
• Pass periodic welding tests and qualifications as per qualification procedures.
• Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and grinding as needed.
• Use measuring tools to verify the accuracy of welded products.
• Notify Plant Supervisor of non-conforming parts.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested in the plant.

Knowledge, Experience, and Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of welding experience.
• Experience in completing weld certification tests.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and scales.
• Detail-oriented.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Work in hot environments and dusty conditions.
• Perform duties while wearing PPE.
