You will operate sawmill equipment, adjust machinery for optimal recovery, read logs for sawing patterns, and ensure lumber quality. Team collaboration and strict safety adherence are essential in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous sawmill sawing experience required.
• Strong understanding of log characteristics, sawing patterns, and lumber grades.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate sawmill equipment safely and efficiently.
• Set up and adjust saws and related equipment for optimal recovery and lumber quality.
• Read logs and make sound decisions regarding sawing patterns and lumber production.
• Monitor lumber quality and make adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and assist with maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Work closely with other members of the sawmill team to maintain production goals.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
