Job summary

Highland Animal Hospital in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of veterinary experience, strong surgical and technical skills, and a passion for providing excellent patient and client care.

Dentistry experience is preferred but not required. We offer a busy small animal practice with comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care, plus opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Current RVT license in North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• 5+ years of veterinary experience preferred.
• Strong surgical skills, including preparation and assisting.
• Experience with anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring and recovery.
• Dentistry experience, including scaling and polishing, preferred.
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills with knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, blood draws, IV catheter placement, medications and vaccines.
• Experience with digital radiology and proper patient positioning.
• Ability to obtain accurate medical histories and maintain detailed records.
• Excellent client communication, education, organization and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgical procedures and dentistry.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with anesthesia, monitoring and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
