Job summary

Dogwood Animal Hospital in Fayetteville, NC is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join a collaborative, modern practice. The RVT will handle anesthesia, nursing tasks, diagnostics, and client education while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in good standing with NCVMB or eligible for NC transfer.
• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
• Positive, team-first mindset with strong communication skills and physical capability to lift up to 40-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia & Surgery: Inducing, monitoring, and recovering surgical and dental patients under veterinary supervision.
• Clinical Nursing: Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and fluid therapy.
• Diagnostics: Digital radiology, dental prophylaxis, dental X-rays, and in-house lab analytics.
• Client Advocacy: Gather history, vitals, samples, and provide empathetic discharge guidance.

Role Responsibilities

As a vital member of our medical team, you will handle advanced nursing care, laboratory analytics, and client education. Your responsibilities include:

• Anesthesia & Surgery: Inducing, monitoring, and recovering surgical and dental patients under veterinary supervision.
• Clinical Nursing: Performing venipuncture, placing IV catheters, administering prescribed medications, and handling fluid therapy
• Diagnostics: Executing digital radiology, dental prophylaxis, dental X-rays, and running comprehensive in-house lab analytics
• Client Advocacy: Serving as a trusted liaison for pet parents by obtaining history, vitals and lab samples, reviewing discharge workflows and answering care questions with empathy.

What You Bring (Requirements)

• Licensure: Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing with the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board (NCVMB), or an out-of-state credentialed technician eligible for immediate NC license transfer. (Recent graduates awaiting VTNE results are welcome!)
• Education: Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
