Job summary

Carr Veterinary Hospital in Oak Ridge, NC seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to support both outpatient care and surgery. The ideal candidate balances exam room care, surgical support, and client communication with strong clinical judgment and empathy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience REQUIRED
• Active and good-standing RVT in North Carolina strongly preferred
• Exotics experience preferred
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, anesthesia, surgical assistance, dental care, venipuncture, IV placement, radiology, and client education

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Perform dental procedures including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identify patient concerns and support efficient case management across the hospital
• Build strong client relationships through education and attentive service
