Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an RN II to provide professional nursing care, conduct assessments, assist with exams and treatments, educate patients, and maintain medical records. The role requires collaboration with physicians and the health care team to deliver compassionate, quality care and outcomes.

Leadership duties may include charge nurse or preceptor responsibilities and participation in governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated.
• Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare environment.
• RN - Texas State Licensure with PSv Compact; must obtain permanent TX license within 60 days if establishing residency.
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population and conducts nursing assessments.
• Assists with exams, treatments, and maintenance of medical records; educates patients and families.
• Communicates and collaborates with physicians and interprofessional team to achieve desired outcomes.
• Demonstrates leadership as charge nurse or preceptor and participates in governance initiatives.
