Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse II to provide professional nursing care, conduct comprehensive assessments, and support patient education. You will collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional team to ensure high-quality, efficient care and maintain accurate medical records.

In this role, you will demonstrate leadership capabilities, participate in unit governance, and may serve as a preceptor to students or new staff while adhering to professional nursing

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Current Texas RN license or compact license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) within 4 months
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct thorough patient assessments.
• Assist with exams, treatments, and medication administration.
• Educate patients and families and maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional care team for coordinated care.
• Lead unit activities or act as charge nurse/preceptor as needed.
