Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is hiring a Store Cashier to provide excellent customer service while operating a cash register. Major duties include ringing up all sales, greeting donors and customers, and assisting on the sales floor.

You will greet customers professionally, handle transactions accurately, and follow cash handling procedures with attentiveness and teamwork. Prior cashiering experience is preferred; high school education or equivalent is recommended.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School education or equivalent is preferred. Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and beginner knowledge of touch screen cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Greeting each customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Providing prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
• Directing customers to the proper area and providing general information as requested.
• Ringing up all sales transactions into the cash register and complete sales.
• Ensuring that each customer receives the proper change and correct receipt for purchase.
• Following all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and change Round Up program.
• Keeping the register area clean and orderly at all times.
• Answering telephone calls promptly using an established etiquette procedure.
• Assisting sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.
