Job summary

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse for full-time night shift to care for patients recovering from complex cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity setting.

The 8-bed CVICU team collaborates with intensivists, surgeons and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional patient care and to grow critical care skills.

Experience in ICU or CVIMC is strongly preferred; ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL required; MD RN license and BLS required.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to CVICU patients and families.
• Assess patient conditions, identify health concerns, and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with nursing team and interdisciplinary colleagues.

Full-Time Night Shift

Join the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and care for patients recovering from complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic procedures in a high-acuity, specialized environment. This 8-bed CVICU provides an excellent opportunity to care for patients following open heart surgery, catheter-based valve procedures, vascular interventions, and thoracic surgeries. ICU or Cardiovascular Intermediate Care (CVIMC) experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs-from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
