LeafSpring School of Hanover in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Preschool Teacher to guide young children through hands-on learning, structured routines, and compassionate guidance.

You will lead circle time, group activities, and centers, while fostering readiness, social skills, and family collaboration in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center.
• Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

As a Preschool Teacher, you’ll promote preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development - while working closely with families.

• Implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction
• Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions
• Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development

Family Communication & School Collaboration

• Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences
• Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations
• Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency
• Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with curriculum models such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori is preferred, as our proprietary curriculum incorporates elements from both approaches.
• Knowledge of state child care licensing regulations and quality standards
• Background in inclusive education, sensory integration, or differentiated instruction is a plus

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
