Job summary

Black Hills, part of TurnPoint Services, is seeking a skilled Plumbing Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial plumbing systems. You will communicate clearly with customers, ensure safe operations, and uphold local codes and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of plumbing service experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of plumbing service experience (residential or light commercial).
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and techniques.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Plumbing apprentice or journeyman license (as required by local jurisdiction).
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in confined spaces, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with tankless water heaters, drain cleaning, or water filtration systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, broken pipes, and fixture malfunctions.
• Install and replace faucets, toilets, water heaters, garbage disposals, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on water, sewer, and drain systems.
• Troubleshoot system failures and recommend repair or replacement options.
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
• Provide professional communication and clear explanations to customers about repair findings and solutions.
• Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes, safety standards, and company quality expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and job site.
• Collaborate with dispatchers and supervisors to ensure timely service delivery.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency plumbing service.
