Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation seeks an experienced Pipelayer for a heavy civil project. You will assemble, align, and install pipe systems for storm and sanitary sewers and water mains, with focus on precise alignment, trench prep, and safety adherence.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in utility or roadway construction, experience with reinforced concrete pipe up to 42 inches, and ability to read drawings. Rigorous safety standards and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of utility or roadway construction experience.
• Experience with reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) up to 42" and box culverts (RCB).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in trenches.
• Knowledge of setting grades and slope verification with lasers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas and ensure trenches are graded for pipe installation.
• Set up lasers, verify slopes per drawings, and coordinate with supervision.
• Assemble, align, and connect pipe sections with proper spacing.
• Lay pipe for sewers and water mains according to specs.
• Seal joints using cement, glue, or sealants and inspect connections.
• Backfill, compact trenches, and ensure safe work practices.
