Job summary

Payne & Dolan, Inc. in Southern Wisconsin is seeking a Paving Foreman for the 2026 season. You will assist with scheduling, crew leadership, equipment coordination, and quality control in laydown and compaction. Flexibility for varied hours, nights and weekends is required.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in the field, prior foreman experience, and familiarity with CMV guidelines. CDL is a plus; union membership is encouraged to support a strong, safety‑driven team.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be punctual, dependable and have strong ethics.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work varied hours.
• Union membership encouraged; HR can assist.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous quality improvement in laydown and compaction.
• Ensure compliance with safety, union and CMV regulations.

The Position:

We're looking for a Paving Foreman, for our upcoming 2026 season, responsible for assisting with any and all aspects of efficient personnel scheduling, crew management, overseeing paving equipment needs and repair, and reinforcement of continuous quality improvement in the area of laydown and compaction.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• A CDL is desired but not necessary.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Must be punctual, dependable and have a high ethical standard for personal and business conduct.
• Must be self‑directed and motivated; able to manage multiple conflicting and changing priorities.
• Have the ability to be trusted with confidential information and observe anti‑trust laws and regulations.
• Have the ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
• Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
• Member of the appropriate trade union or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment. Our Human Resources Department is able to assist in that process as needed.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience at the field level, laying and finishing asphalt.
• Prior experience as a Foreman.
• Working knowledge of CMV guidelines and regulations.
