Job description

Experienced Painter – Work-to-Own / Partner Opportunity

Portland, OR, USA

Description

Lightmen Painting is looking for an experienced painter who wants more than just another job.

This role is built for someone with real field experience who wants the opportunity to grow into leadership, run work, build a crew, and potentially move into a work‑to‑own / partner‑style opportunity over time.

We are not looking for someone who just wants to clock in, do the minimum, and disappear. We want someone who thinks bigger, takes ownership, communicates well, understands production, and wants to help build something real.

You should already know how to paint professionally, manage yourself on the job, maintain quality, and carry responsibility. Over time, the right person may have the opportunity to take on more leadership, help manage projects, help drive production, and step into a larger operational role tied to growth and ownership potential.

This is a serious opportunity for the right person. Not for dabblers. Not for drama. Not for people who love excuses more than results.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional painting experience
  • Strong field knowledge in prep, production, and finish work
  • Ability to lead by example and take ownership of results
  • Strong communication and follow-through
  • Professional attitude and reliability
  • Interest in long-term growth and increased responsibility
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions on the job
  • Comfortable with jobsite leadership and managing workflow
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Crew leadership, estimating awareness, or project coordination experience is a strong plus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset is a strong plus
  • Opportunity for long-term growth beyond a standard painter role
  • Leadership path for strong performers
  • Potential future partner-style opportunity for the right fit
  • Higher earning potential tied to performance and responsibility
  • Opportunity to help build systems, crews, and production capacity
  • Real upside for someone who wants ownership, not just employment
  • Real opportunity to increase responsibility and earnings
  • Work with a company focused on systems, production, and long-term opportunity
  • Potential path into leadership and partner-level opportunity
  • Work on meaningful projects with room to expand your role
  • Less ceiling than a typical painter job
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality painting work in the field
  • Help lead jobs and maintain production standards
  • Assist with jobsite organization, crew flow, and accountability
  • Maintain strong communication with team members and leadership
  • Help solve problems in the field without constant supervision
  • Represent the company professionally with clients and team members
  • Contribute to quality control, efficiency, and job completion
  • Take increasing ownership over projects and outcomes as trust is earned
  • Grow into higher-level responsibility over time
